Investments and Capital

Providing the financing businesses need to grow
Capital access remains the most important factor limiting the establishment, expansion, and growth of Black-owned businesses. We will work with financial institutions to create avenues through which Black businesses can gain greater access to credit, capital, and other financial instruments.

Canada’s venture capital industry has been struggling for more than a decade, hindering our ability to develop leading global enterprises and competitive Canadian brands. Fundraising continues to be the major hurdle facing the venture capital industry. We aim to energize and revitalize stakeholders in the Black Canadian business Community to achieve continued business growth, attract investment, promote employment and improve educational qualifications.

Understanding the Tax System
The Canadian tax system is very complex. It imposes major unnecessary compliance and administration costs on both businesses and consumers. The complexity of the system is particularly challenging for small- and medium-sized businesses because many of them don’t have the time, money or expertise to engage in complex tax-planning arrangements. We will provide workshops that will provide our members with access to some of the brightest minds within the Black Canadian Financial and Accounting sectors
